This past weekend, Rylie and her daddy were BEST buds. She was so excited to have him around to herself. I think we've been going going going so much lately that she's missed out on much of her alone time with him. During the weekend, when I would go up to get her from her nap, she'd point to the bedroom door, try to peek around the corner and say, "da da da da" with this huge grin on her face! It was precious. Well, I think this morning, she was sad to see him go back to his normal work week. She actually cried. This is the first time that she's cried when daddy's left. Yesterday was the first time she's cried when we left her in nursery. Maybe the whole attachment thing is starting. Anyway, this morning, she grabbed onto his pants legs to pull herself up, and he leaned down and kissed her, told her he loved her, and told her he had to go. Then, he pulled her off his pants, and started toward the door. She just sat there and cried. It was pitiful! I think her daddy felt terrible. He would've given anything to stay home.
On a happier note, today was No More Paci Day! And Rylie did beautifully! She hasn't had paci all day long, and she's been as happy as a little lark. We had gotten to the point where she only got pacis in her crib or the car, but she usually ends up taking them back out anyway, so we figured now might be a less traumatic time to make the transition. Instead of her paci, I gave her a cloth book to read in bed. It's a frosty the snowman book that her Grandpa and Granny got for her at a craft fair. She enjoyed sitting up and reading her book until she decided that she was sleepy enough to lay her head down.
So, overall, a very growny girl day!
