We decided to just put the tree up for Rylie to see without dealing with ornaments. Then, when she learned that she had to be gentle with the tree, we'd put up ornaments. We kept it up with only lights for a couple of days, and then we decorated the tree as a family (pictures to come!)
We put the tree up while Rylie was asleep so that she would have a surprise the following morning.
